Mary

Mary has been married for 33 years in December to her husband, Mike. Together they have three children – Ashley, Jordan and Brandon. Ashley is married to Mark, and has a son Owen, and newly born Noah James. Jordan is a nail tech, and Brandon just graduated with a business degree and works in Westlake. She loves spending time with her family and traveling.

Mary found a lump in her breast in the fall of 2022. It was pre-cancer cells, and she was recommended to follow up in six months with a mammogram and MRI. Cancer was found on the MRI and she was diagnosed in July 2023 with triple negative Stage 1B.

Mary underwent a double mastectomy, and at the time of her reconstruction surgery she just wanted to be herself again. Dr. Yoho and Dr. Cody performed her bilateral free flap reconstruction surgery, and Mary could not be happier with the results! “I feel whole – Drs. Cody and Yoho did an amazing job!”

Mary would encourage women facing a diagnosis to explore all their options and to do what is right for them. She shares that everyone’s journey is different and individual. Mary is honored to walk the Pink Runway, and walks to bring awareness to breast cancer – but most of all, to look cancer in the face and to say “I beat it!”

She cannot thank Dr. Yoho and Dr. Cody, the nurses, and the office staff enough. “The kindness and compassion shown to me during every step of the process has not gone unnoticed. Thank you all so much!”
