Crystal Clinic Plastic Surgeons is working with both the Ohio Department of Health and the CDC, and following all recommendations to continue to reduce the chances of spreading the virus. We remain dedicated to assuring your safety and the wellbeing of all of our patients and employees.

To help you make right decisions about your care, we’re providing answers to some of the most frequently asked questions specific to Crystal Clinic Plastic Surgeons. Please note that some of our policies have changed.

How is Crystal Clinic able to continue to provide care safely?

Crystal Clinic Plastic Surgeons, a division of Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center, is an independent, physician-owned hospital system with no Emergency Room. Crystal Clinic is dedicated exclusively to orthopedic, plastic & reconstructive care, allowing us to provide care to a focused patient population, in a safe and caring environment.

Is Crystal Clinic performing surgeries?

Yes! We are providing our comprehensive range of plastic and reconstructive care to patients. As a hospital system dedicated to specialty care, Crystal Clinic is able to schedule and perform elective surgical procedures in a safe and caring environment. Please contact us for scheduling.

Is it safe to come in for an appointment or to schedule surgery?

Because Crystal Clinic Plastic Surgeons only sees plastic and reconstruction patients and does not have an emergency room, our hospital and clinic locations have not had the kind of exposure to contagions that many acute-care hospitals have experienced during this pandemic. Even so, you can be assured that we continue to diligently take every precaution to ensure you are entering the cleanest and safest environment possible. Every patient, staff member, delivery person, and other visitor is screened and their temperature is taken before they may enter our clinics for any reason. Everyone is required to wear a face covering at all times while in a Crystal Clinic facility. Of course, if you are ill, or have been in close contact with someone who may have coronavirus, please contact your primary care physician before attempting to schedule an appointment with Crystal Clinic.

Please know that Crystal Clinic Plastic Surgeons, a division of Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center, continues to closely monitor the COVID-19 outbreak, and follows both the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to provide the safest environment possible for our patients.

Will I be able to have visitors?

We are pleased to welcome TWO DESIGNATED VISITORS to accompany a patient to their clinic appointment, surgical procedure or bedside inpatient stay with certain limitations. For more details about our visitation restrictions, please see our Visitor Restriction page. Note that ODH and CDC guidelines are subject to change and we will do our best to keep the information on the website up to date.

Must I wear a facemask or cloth face covering?

In accordance with the CDC, masks are no longer required in hospitals that are located in areas where the rate of COVID community transmission are low to medium. This new recommendation went into effect on September 23, 2022. You do not need to wear a mask unless you are COVID positive or showing symptoms and are being seen on an urgent/emergency basis. You will be offered a mask if one is needed due to your symptoms and may be asked to reschedule when you are symptom-free. You may also choose to wear a mask if you feel safer doing so. We encourage our patients and visitors to continue practice social distancing. Please stay home if you are not feeling well to prevent the spread of illness. Please also note that we may reinstate the required use of masks during periods of high community transmission of COVID-19.

As an alternative to an in-person visit, telehealth is available in some circumstances (see next section). We are here to help you determine how to stay as safe and healthy as possible. Your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated.

Is there an alternative to an in-person visit?

As you can see, Crystal Clinic is taking great care to assure your protection. But if you are still uncomfortable, we understand. You may find that a good alternative to an on-site visit is a virtual telehealth visit with your Crystal Clinic Plastic Surgeons specialist. A telehealth visit can be conducted from the safety and comfort of your own home through the use of your smart phone, tablet, laptop computer, or desktop computer. Call 855-687-6357, Extension 27015 to discuss if telehealth is a suitable option for you. You can also visit our telehealth page to learn more about telehealth. As coverage varies, we suggest that you consult with your insurance provider regarding coverage of telehealth visits.
