Michael G. Parker, MD is one of the newest additions to the Crystal Clinic Plastic Surgeons staff. He is a native of Springfield, Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois School of Medicine in 1978. He went on to complete his general surgery residency at Albany Medical Center and his plastic surgery residency at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic. His additional training includes a fellowship in surgery of the head and neck at Canniesburn Hospital in Glasgow, Scotland.
Dr. Parker feels that his fellowship in Scotland enhanced his knowledge and experience with head and neck issues, especially cancer, as well as treatment of craniofacial anomalies in children and adults. It was also quite enlightening for him to work in the British Health system and it now seems like a glimpse into America’s health future.
Dr. Parker has more than 30 years experience as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon. In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Parker is a clinical professor of plastic surgery at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), American Society for Bariatric Plastic Surgeons (ASBPS), American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons (ASAMS) and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS).
In his spare time, Dr. Parker has volunteered his talents with non-profit organizations like Operation Rainbow, which provides free surgery for impoverished children and young adults in developing countries worldwide. He also enjoys golfing, snow skiing and water sports. He and his wife, Marie, who is a retired nurse, both like to travel. They have three adult children.
