Revitalize Your Skin, Reduce Fine Lines & Improve Skin Tone
Every day your facial skin takes a beating from the sun and other environmental factors, not to mention the effects of aging. This wear and tear eventually may cause skin damage such as wrinkles and age spots. Leave the years and all that sun behind. Its time to treat your skin to Parisian Peel, the gentle approach to skin renewal. The Parisian Peel Medical Microdermabrasion System smoothes and freshens your skin, the way the French have enjoyed for years!
Its not a chemical, not a laser, not a surgical procedure. Parisian Peel treatment takes about 30 minutes after which you can return immediately to your daily activities. Youll feel minimal discomfort, only the glow of newer, fresher skin. The Parisian Peel process can reduce or even erase your fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, scars or other superficial blemishes.
Where to Go for Answers
As with all cosmetic surgery procedures, patients should seek the advice and counsel of an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon to design an effective treatment regimen that will yield the best possible results. Skin Resurfacing
For more dramatic and long-lasting results, you may need skin resurfacing. These techniques surgically remove the damaged outer layers of the skin and smooth the texture of facial skin. One of the newer skin-freshening techniques, microdermabrasion (click here to see an illustration of the procedure), uses neither surgery nor chemicals. A device like a finesandblaster sprays tiny crystals across the face, mixing gentle abrasian withsuction to remove the dead outer layer of skin. As with other skin rejuvenationtechniques, more than one treatment may be needed to reduce or remove finewrinkles and unwanted pigmentation. Dermabrasion is most often used to improvethe look of facial skin scarred by accidents and previous surgery, to smooth outfine facial lines or to remove pre-cancerous growths called keratoses.
The History of Microdermabrasion
Medical microdermabrasion is a non-chemical, non-invasive modality for treating superficial skin blemishes resulting from trauma, aging or prolonged exposure to the sun. Medical microdermabrasion became available in the United States in 1998 under the Parisian Peel brand and others. In Europe, where the technology originated, microdermabrasion has been used for over 8 years to successfully treat acne, fine lines and wrinkles, unwanted pigmentation and other superficial skin damage.
In clinical experience to date, a consensus is emerging among dermatologists and plastic surgeons that medical microdermabrasion adds unique value to their therapeutic and cosmetic armamentarium. Physicians are also reporting that high patient satisfaction with the quick results of microdermabrasion helps jump-start patient compliance to an overall skin care plan.
How Microdermabrasion Works
Medical microdermabrasion treatment is delivered using an electro-mechanical device such as the Parisian Peel system that gently abrades the skin surface using chemically inert micro-crystals and air suction. The clinician uses a handpiece to direct a stream of crystals and mild suction exactly where needed on the patients skin. The gentle abrasive action of the crystals combines with the suction to exfoliate the epidermis while uncovering the smooth, soft underlayer to promote a thicker, healthier dermis.
Application
Simplicity makes medical microdermabrasion both safe and economical. Used as an alternative or adjunct to laser skin resurfacing and chemical peels, it can be administered by physicians, or by trained staff on their own, in 15 to 20 minutes. Patients require no anesthesia, experience no down time and can return immediately to their daily activities. Physicians are reporting optimal results after 58 treatments, depending on the patients skin type and condition. Microdermabrasion works equally effectively on all types of skin and can be administered as often as needed without fear of side effects.
